Kelly and Ben could not have asked for a more perfect September day. Blue skies, gentle breezes, and the warm sun filtering through the trees created a storybook backdrop for their La Mariposa Resort wedding in Tucson, Arizona.
Kelly and Ben are the dream couple that all photographers hope for. Not just because they are a stunningly gorgeous couple, or for the warmth and kindness that they exude. But it is their deep adoration and love for one another make them a treasure to capture on camera.
From the moment I met Kelly at her bridal consult, I knew it would be an honor to be on this wedding journey with her. She is an absolute gem! Her thoughtfulness and attention to detail all came together to create so many beautiful moments on her and Ben’s wedding day.
One of my favorite moments of the day was their first look. I love first looks because it is such a treat to see the groom’s reaction to seeing his bride for the first time. I have to say Ben’s reaction to seeing Kelly was priceless! I couldn’t help but smile watching these two!
I also loved Kelly’s first look with her Dad. She is a daddy’s girl through and through. When her Dad opened the bridal suite door, Kelly was perfectly posed in the middle of the room looking like a princess. This is a fitting description, since the nickname she has been given by her Dad is Princess Buttercup. Tears immediately welled up in her Dad’s eyes as he embraced his little girl. Kelly had an embroidered hankie that she gifted her Dad. It was such a thoughtful and beautiful keepsake.
I already knew how much I adored Kelly and Ben, but meeting the Engle and Genzman families was such a treat! The love and gracious hospitality that was shown to myself and all their wedding guests was humbling. There is no question as to why Kelly and Ben are such kind and remarkable human beings. To give an example of the incredible love these families have for each other, I would like to share one more moment from the day. During the toasts, Ben’s brother Ryan gave one of the most funny and touching speeches I have ever heard. At the end he and his darling wife Dannaka, wrapped the newlyweds in prayer shawls they had brought back from a trip to Israel. They gave a beautiful prayer for the new couple. It was so touching to see everyone there bow their heads and pray in unison for the happiness and success of Kelly and Ben. My heart was just bursting it was so sweet!
From the breathtaking JBridal gown that Kelly wore, to the artfully designed bouquets, the Eagles touches, and the sophisticated black and white wedding attire, Kelly and Ben’s wedding day was the epitome of elegance. Kelly and Ben, I know you will both adore each other all the days of your lives. Your love story is why I do what I do. Thank you for trusting me with it!
