Located just outside Tucson, Arizona, Tanque Verde Ranch is easily accessible yet feels like a secluded desert oasis. This prime location at the edge of Saguaro National Park offers guests the chance to enjoy the peace and serenity of the desert, while still being close to the city’s amenities and attractions. The History of Tanque Verde Guest Ranch

As one of the oldest cattle ranches in Arizona, Tanque Verde Ranch has a rich history that provides a unique backdrop for your wedding day. The historic barn, originally used for the ranch’s operations, has been beautifully restored and is now a popular venue for rustic, elegant receptions. The mountain backdrop where couples exchange their vows is stunning!

The Saguaro Room

An indoor venue with large windows offering panoramic desert and mountain views, ideal for an intimate reception. Guests will descend the grand staircase into the Saguaro Room where the saguaro ribbed ceilings, a stone fireplace, and hanging chandeliers create an intimate and meaningful space for your wedding. Spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) are the most popular times for weddings at Tanque Verde Ranch, as the weather is mild and the desert is in bloom. These seasons offer ideal conditions for outdoor ceremonies, with temperatures ranging from 60 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Summer weddings, while less common due to the heat, are still possible, especially with early morning or sunset ceremonies. The ranch also offers winter wedding packages, which are becoming increasingly popular due to the cooler temperatures and special offers.

My Favorite Photography Locations at Tanque Verde Ranch

As a wedding photographer, I’m always inspired by the natural beauty of Tanque Verde Ranch. One of my favorite spots is the Old Homestead, where the vast mountainside is dotted with towering saguaros. I also love photographing couples by the lake, where the distant mountains peek through the tall trees, offering a perfect backdrop for those romantic couples’ shots right after the ceremony. The blend of desert landscapes and lush greenery makes every image feel timeless and romantic.
